"I'm not really into reality that much. I'm into this cinematic stylised reality that can comment on reality. It's like the most beautiful parts of reality and the saddest parts, but none of this middle ground." - Zack Snyder
Born in 1966 Wisconsin, Zack Snyder began his filmmaking career in music videos. But his debut feature, a remake of the classic 1978 horror Dawn of the Dead, was enough to immediately pin him as one of Hollywood's most promising directors. With a string of high concept, visually stunning films in his wake, Snyder was tasked with helming the DC Extended Universe film franchise. Whether it was studio interference or hubris that put the franchise in jeopardy is still unknown, Snyder has starts to make his comeback since breaking away from DC.
Snyder's films can often be identified by their impressive and inventive visual presentation, but are often criticised for their gritty tones, over-complicated stories and long runtimes.
Collected here are my reviews for every feature film directed by Snyder, listed in release order.
