"Art challenges technology, but technology inspires art." - John Lasseter
Starting out as the Graphics Group of Lucasfilm in the 1970's, Pixar was later formed as an independent animation house in 1986, run by John Lasseter, and funded by Steve Jobs. Pixar specialised in the emerging field of computer animation and would start out by animating a number of short films and commercials. But in 1995 Pixar struck a deal with Dinsey to create the worlds first feature length computer animated film, Toy Story. Since the Pixar have gone on to establish themselves as some of the most talented animators and storytellers in the industry, creating some of the most critically beloved and commercially successful animated films of all time.
