Love, Wedding, Repeat had the opportunity to be not only a great Rom-Com but also the opportunity to be another unique spin on the Groundhog Day formula of having to relive the same day over and over again in the hopes of getting it right. The only problem is it eschews it’s Groundhog Day premise in favour of two overly long runs of the day, one hilarious and one not so, and only a brief minute long montage of the rest of the ways the day could have gone.
Something as simple as a wedding seating plan can cause so much chaos, or joy, but depending on who sits where is what can tip the scales in either direction.
The cast all bring great performances with some fantastic comedic timing. However the relatively bland presentation and the disappointing use of the repeating timeline mechanic makes Love, Wedding, Repeat somewhat forgettable in the long run.
