"I'm always pushing back against the last thing I did in some way, and some of that is restlessness and a sense of limited time." - Alex Garland
Born in London in 1970, Alex Garland made a name for himself with his 1996 novel, The Beach. After director Danny Boyle adapted The Beach in 2000, Garland went on to write the screenplay for Boyle's next film, 2002's 28 Days Later, which would propel him to even greater heights. It wouldn't be until 2014 when Garland would branch out into directing, with his debut feature Ex_Machina.
Garland's work resonates with me on a personal level, and so collected here are my reviews of his work, whether he is credited as director or writer (as well as Boyle's adaptation of The Beach). These are listed in release order.
