Green Book manages to strike all the right highs and lows of a buddy road trip movie, set to a backdrop of extreme prejudice against people of colour and other minority races in 1960’s America. Two standout performances shine through from the lead actors in this engaging and heartwarming tale of a blossoming friendship between two very different people.
However the characters never truly feel like they have grown come the credits, with neither person having changed much from their starting point, but it does have some interesting and still very relevant messages about prejudice and perseverance through the darkest of times which are as important today as they were 50 years ago.
