"People will say there's a million ways to shoot a scene, but I don't think so. I think there are two, maybe, and the other one is wrong." - David Fincher
Born in Denver, Colorado in 1962, David Fincher grew up to become one of Hollywood's most revered filmmakers. Starting out his filmmaking career as a visual effects producer at Industrial Light and Magic, Fincher went on to direct music videos before finally landing his feature directorial debut with 1992's Alien 3. Whilst Fincher would later disown the film due to its extremely troubled production, he soon proved himself with the 1995 thriller Se7en, and quickly cemented himself as one of the hottest new directors in the industry.
A true perfectionist, Fincher's films are infamous for putting actors through their paces with principal photography being a long and arduous process, taking all the time possible to attain the perfect take. With pinpoint precision camerawork, a keen ear for film scores, and a tendency to tackle unsavoury subject matter Fincher is an auteur who pushes boundaries and seeks refinement in all of his work.
Collected here are my reviews for all of Fincher's feature length filmography, listed in release order.
