"Lovely cheese Gromit." - Wallace
University friends Peter Lord and David Sproxton had dreams of creation their own animated feature films. Once graduated the utilised their skills to create animated shorts, or animated elements in various shows for the BBC, and so Aardman Animations was founded. Aardman gained mainstream recognition for their efforts in claymation when their character, Morph, became a household staple of children's TV. Continuing to dream bigger, in 1989 Aardman debuted their most iconic characters, Wallace and Gromit, in 'A Grand Day Out'. From here the studio exponentially grew, partnering with DreamWorks in the early 2000's to produce their first feature films. Now Aardman operate as an independent studio, self financing their own productions and continue to lead the charge in claymation.
